Welcome to Cleeve Hill Tennis Club in the heart of Downend.  

‘Cleeve Hill’ as we’re informally known,  is regarded as one of the best tennis clubs in Bristol,  for our standard of competitive adult tennis and great after tennis social.

Located in Downend, in the heart of the community, the club is one of the oldest in the county and has been welcoming members since 1929.  We offer year-round tennis with three floodlit courts - two great quality artificial grass courts and a brand new hard court, built in 2022.  

The club is set within one of the most idyllic spaces in Downend, surrounded by trees and wildlife. The Betty Ford court is said to be one of the best courts to play on in the Avon league. 

Run by passionate volunteers, we have around 120 members ranging from four to 84.  We have a whole host of tennis playing options available - from social tennis to league, and coaching for juniors and adults alike. 

We also have a thriving after tennis social scene.  We are lucky to benefit from our own dedicated bar, with recently upgraded changing facilities, and a lounge with free WIFI, darts and a large screen TV.  We have exciting plans for upgrading our clubhouse over the next few years.  Check them out here.
