Audrey Michael – Stepping down – Jon Board taking on this positionAlthough many of the current committee members are preparing to re stand, any member can be put forward for any position. There are currently 3 positions without anyone currently standing, thesuccess of the club is based on a functioning committee.
Roles descriptions with no one currently standing:
Bar Manager
- To ensure the bar is reasonably stocked throughout the year with a varied selection of drinks and snacks- To set the bar prices ensuring there is a benefit to club members whilst making a profit for the club
- Work very closely with the socials/club bookings individual to ensure club bookings are
staffed
- Ensure to tie in with the refurb/maintenance individual to ensure any potential improvements take into account the way the bar is run day to day
- Represent this position at committee meetings and the AGM
Men’s Captain
- Ensure that all players that are considered for league fixtures are fully paid members of the club
- Decide how many league teams will be entered into the leagues based number of interested individuals taking into account holidays/injuries and inform the committee
- Decide on team players and team captains for each team/fixture throughout the year
- Ensure match fees are collected and tracked so you know who owes what & when
- Responsible for making sure all subs’ payments due are paid to the treasurer by 1
week after the last league match at the latest
- Provide balls & match cards to team captains before any league fixture
- Book courts for home matches ensuring there are no clashes with other teams or events happening at the club at that time
- Arrange for the engraving of trophies at the end of each season
- Arranging match practice in the lead up and during the summer league season
- Upload the match cards to the LTA website for home fixtures
- liaise with team captains regarding access & locking up the lockhouse/bar and provide light key for home matches
- Represent Men’s league tennis at committee meetings and the AGM
- Please make sure winter, Vets & late summer league teams have a captain who will do all of the above.
- Liaise with Ladies captain to ensure this is captured and inform the committee each year**
