The main building contractor is due to start week commencing 5th February. From this point on the majority of the clubhouse will be out of bounds. You will however, still have full use of the ladies toilets, bar area, men’s toilets, first aid kit and defib.

Why are we doing a club refurb?

In this phase of the refurbishment, we are trying to achieve a light, airy and modern clubroom which is multi-functional. The flooring is to be smart and for maintenance purposes, easy to clean. At this stage, the furniture is thought to be a mix of some comfy chairs, bar stools and tables & chairs. The sizing and numbers of these items will be led by cost and the space available.

Will the clubhouse/bar still be multi-functional?

Due thought will be given to its ability to be flexible and for the space to be adaptable to the many different events that are held there currently. Hopefully, we can expand and attract or host new events too. There will be all new lighting and a scheme which will be zoned to offer flexibility for use.

Will the TV still be available to members?

The plan is to retain usage of the TV.

Where can I sit on a Saturday morning during junior coaching?

Seating will be available on the patio area to enable you to watch junior coaching on a Saturday morning. There will also be seating inside the clubhouse at the bar but there will be no court viewing from inside the clubhouse whilst work is ongoing. 

How long will it take?

We don’t know exactly, but we expect to be able to open the main clubhouse up in stages and we will continuously update you of progress. We must have the space fully open and usable before league starts in May.

Will I still be able to book it for private functions?

Absolutely, we will be encouraging this once it is back open - it will be a great space for a party or event.  If you want to book a function in the coming months but are unsure whether, it will be ready in time.  Please reach out to cleeve.bar@gmail.com for a provisional booking.  Full bookings are already being taken from May onwards.

Is the bar area included in the refurb?

Yes, but not yet. This phase of the refurb is for the main clubhouse only. As and when budget allows we would like to swiftly move on to the refurbishment of the bar.
